Redemption! This Time It’s Personal

“Redemption is the commitment of man to GOD who loves them” Hello, my name is Melvin Morrison for those who want to know, but who I am is inconsequential to what I am…A Christian. (Acts 11:23-26)  Fifteen years ago I became a follower of Jesus Christ. My life began the moment I came up from the water of baptism. (Colossian 2:9-12)   I quickly learned that GOD’s word had  exposed my sins. You know that thing you practice which separates you from GOD. (Isaiah 59:2) Let me start at the beginning like all sinners. I shed my inhibitions with joy. I loathed church and believed the bible to be of evil origin.

KNEW of GOD, but I did not KNOW GOD.  Sin feeds the flesh with tasty little morsels of desire to addict it to perversions both subtle and gross.  Sin and I were buddies promoting our motto of “ignorance is bliss.”  Sin disguised itself as a sweet blessing, a sundae piled high with smooth and creamy ice cream,  topped with a stiff peak of whipped cream, and garnished with a bright red cherry and like a fool I asked, “Where’s the spoon?”  Sin fed me well prepping my soul to be an honored guest at Satan’s Lake of Fire Ball. The world made sure I was well groomed for this occasion.

We were created by love to cultivate the teachings GOD’s word and our humanity was forged by the decisions we made in a sinful world. To fully appreciate who GOD is and what he expects from us.  We have to get up close and personal with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  What words did I hear to make me realize the relationship I had with sin was not good? (Romans 5:6-11) What did I believe that led me to repentance? (Acts 8:12) What did I confess before I went into the water to be baptized? (Acts 8:37)  Being made in His image I was willing to obey and be accountable for my actions that led me down the dark path. (Genesis 1:27) The Bible lets us know that we need GOD in our lives, and I believe with all my heart that the bible is the truth.  If you are reading this, that same image abides in you, whether you believe it or not. If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus then you are a pawn of the devil. You need Redemption! This time make it PERSONAL!
