Even though there are 8,035,209,437 people in the world as of 05/26/2023 at 6:47 AM (at least according to the “World Population Clock”), I am one of a kind. In this whole wide world, there is no one exactly like me. There is no one who has done all the things that I have done, nor is there anyone who will experience all that I have experienced. Being that I am unique, and some of you may already be thinking this, one could say that I am not normal.
I would however like to point out, that each of you is also unique.
I bring you these words to help us recognize just how unique Jesus is. I think we all agree that He is one of a kind, and that He is unique in every way.
Matthew 4: 23 – 25 NKJV23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. 24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. 25 Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
Matthew 10: 34 – 39 NKJV34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
If we have the hope of heaven in our future, we cannot be like the rest of the normal world. Like Jesus, we have to stand out. Just like we tell our children, we have to let our light shine.
