What does your church look like? Is it a tall well constructed building with a cross above the double door entrance with a lot of satin glass windows, fully carpeted with soft pew seats. Is your church where all the saints come to worship? Can I interest you in a fun fact? The church is not a physical building. The church is not a building you can just walk in and out of. This is a delusion of the world at large. Religion today has turned the church into an insignificant artifact of brick and mortar. There is ONLY one Church you can read about in your bible. The Church which the bible speaks of is a gathering of Christians, let’s start from the beginning.
In Matthew 16:18 Jesus said, “I will build My Church upon Peter’s confession.” As we read further into the life of Christ, the Apostles never built a temple or a church. When Jesus had been crucified, buried, and resurrected. The Church Christ mentioned in Matthew 16:18 was established in Acts 2. In Acts 2:47 the Lord added to the Church daily those who were being saved. Added to what? The Apostles did not build a facility at Pentecost. There is only one body of Christ and that body is the Church, spiritually created by GOD. (Ephesians 4:4-6) (Ephesians 1:22-23)
Now the ONLY way to be added to the Church of the bible is baptism. (Mark 16:16) You can’t even call yourself a Christian unless you have been buried with Christ in baptism. Listen to your Bible, for where two or more are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20) The Church is a spiritual oasis of gathered Christians purposed to worship the Lord in spirit and truth, serving our Lord until Jesus returns. So remember the true Church is not a building you can walk in and out of. It will never rust or decay and it will NEVER be abandoned.
