Can someone please show me in the bible where I can find the sinner’s prayer or the example of someone asking Jesus into their heart to guarantee salvation? I have read the bible in its entirety from Genesis to Revelation three times since I became a Christian in the year 2009, not to mention the countless bible studies. I have yet to find many ways to salvation. The bible only makes one clear path to salvation. I’ll let Jesus myself tell you from Mark 16:16. Jesus said, “He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved, but he who has not shall be condemned.” In the book of Matthew baptism was required for repentance during the days of John the Baptist.
And No! John was not a part of a Baptist Church; the Baptist refers to him baptizing people in the wilderness. John began the baptism process with repentance, as Jesus did not need to be baptized because He was sinless however, to fulfill prophecy and being our example of fulfilling righteousness Jesus was submerged in water and the rest is history. Fast forward to present day (Jan. 2022) at no point in the bible did Jesus ever say that you do not need to be baptized, or it’s a symbol, or it’s a metaphor. Stop it, people! Jesus’ message has been very clear there is no need to interpret what Jesus said. “Do you understand the words that are coming out His mouth?” Baptism is “ABSOLUTELY” necessary for salvation.
1 Peter 3:20-21 says it even plainer than Jesus said. Baptism “NOW” saves you. John tells you in Matthew 3 that his baptism was for repentance which will lead to the baptism for the forgiveness of sins after the death of Jesus. The bible teaches you cannot go through the water being sprayed or sprinkled, you must be buried in water and for those people who do need symbolism check this out. Going to the water after your confession symbolizes the death of Jesus along with your former life. Once you are submerged into the water it symbolizes you being buried with Christ. Then you come up through the water saved, which symbolizes Jesus’ resurrection, and you are born again a new creature in Christ. So, remember this…If there is no water, there is no salvation. (Acts 8:36)
