No matter how many times I say it, being a Christian comes with expectations. No matter how long you have been a Christian there will always be a righteous adjustment in your actions, attitude, and your intentions (Ephesians 4:22-24). Hi, I’m Trevor Godsend, I became a Christian at the age of 38. You never realize until you start studying the bible just how lost you were before baptism. That your death may have resulted in eternal damnation and you must give GOD thanks that He gave you the time and space you need to make a wise decision to obey the gospel. You know as GOD’s creation we tend to live our lives so recklessly.
My life as a Christian is just like what you would expect. I live, I learn, I perish just like everyone else, the only caveat to this normal life I live is those specific set of moral standards that GOD has commanded me to follow to receive a spiritual reward for those who seek and obey His word. As a Christian you quickly learn that you have been saved to serve GOD in His purpose and it’s no longer about self (1 Peter 4:10). Your actions must be adjusted for GOD, other Christians, and towards those who do not know GOD. Your attitude should differ from a non-christian with every interaction in life.
How you respond to the world is a reflection of your relationship with Christ. How did I become a Christian? Well, I had to learn from someone who was actually a follower of Christ about the word of truth. (Ephesians 1:13) I had to believe despite 38 years of garbage in my mind that to love Christ I had to follow His commandments. (John 14:15)(Acts 15:7) I was taught that being a follower of Christ would require me to change my life, repentance was necessary. (Acts 11:18) Before I entered the water to be baptized I confessed, “I believe that Jesus is the Son of GOD.” (Acts 8:37). Then I was baptized for the forgiveness of sin. (Colossians 1:14) I AM A CHRISTIAN I have given my life to Christ. If you are not making godly choices, then what kind of choices are you making?
