Follow Me

In Matthew 4:19 Jesus said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” When it comes to Jesus, truer words have never been spoken. We must follow Him. We need to learn His words, obey His will, and teach others His way. Jesus is our example to follow. The word of GOD changes lives. It teaches us how to pray, (Matthew 6:9) who to seek, (Matthew 6:33) and how to response to our brethren in different situations. (Matthew 18:15-20) Jesus is our shepherd; He is our King and all glory goes to Him.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” When you follow JesusChrist, I can guarantee you are doing the right thing and you can verify it because the Bible knows best. Jesus died for our sins, a willing sacrifice because GOD loved us first. (1 John 4:19) According to Matthew 4:18-22, the first disciples dropped everything they were doing literally, to follow Jesus.

When you follow Jesus there should be no hesitation, no second thoughts, because the benefits of doing so are astronomical, literally. Follow the pattern to give this journey more clarity. You hear the gospel message, you believe in the good news, begin to turn from your former life, make your confession in front of other believers, and then are baptized for the forgiveness of sin. That is righteousness. Continue to study, teach and preach the word, remaining faithful until death and heaven will be your home. In the early days of Jesus’ ministry, large crowds followed him from Galilee to Decapolis and Judea and from beyond the Jordan. How far will you follow Jesus now (2022)?
